Hi everyone, my name is Mae, and I am an unlicensed student intern. I view therapy as a supportive process where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe and non-judgmental environment. My interest in mental health developed early on and has continued to grow through both academics and personal insight into the benefits of therapy. I am passionate about helping others access that same sense of understanding, empowerment, and meaningful change.
My approach to counselling is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. As a student counsellor, I value creating a space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences at their own pace. My work is primarily informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also draw from person-centered and strengths-based approaches, tailoring sessions to meet each individual’s unique needs and goals.
My aim is to support clients in developing a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences, while building the tools and confidence needed to navigate challenges. I hope to empower individuals to make changes that align with their values and goals. I am particularly interested in working with anxiety, overthinking, and stress, as well as self-esteem and relationship concerns. I also enjoy supporting individuals who are navigating change, uncertainty, or feeling stuck.
I believe that everyone deserves a safe and supportive space to reflect, grow, and create the change they seek in their lives. It is a privilege to be part of that process and to support individuals on their unique journeys.

My life and career experiences have helped shape me into an empathic, non-judgemental person who strongly believes that everyone has the ability to reach their full potential if given the support and opportunity.
As a therapist, I take an eclectic approach that explores your beliefs about yourself and other people as well as your physical experiences. I use a combination of CBT, somatic approaches, client-centered, and emotion- and solution-focused therapies to support you in achieving your goals.
