Welcome! Please note that our services are available virtually only.

Insurance: Registered Psychotherapists are covered by majority insurance providers. However, please check with your provider to see if your benefit plan covers a Registered Psychotherapist.

GST/HST: As of June 21, 2024, Registered Psychotherapists are exempt from charging HST for counselling and psychotherapy services.

Affordable Therapy Program: We offer reduced rates with our licensed interns at $40 for individuals (50-minute session) and $75 for couples (90 minute session). We also offer limited probono/no-fee spots. If you have any queries or require support related our Affordable Therapy Program, please send an email to fizzah@mindscapecounselling.ca

Affordable Psychotherapy Program

The Affordable Psychotherapy program is provided at a reduced cost by students pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. They hold a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying license and are completing their education and internship/practicum hours.

Inperson Psychotherapy in Milton

Supervision

Clinical supervision for RP (Qualifying) and RPs working towards fulfilling the requirement of College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
Fizzah is currently not accepting practicum students until September 2025.

Hello, My name is Jessica Simms. I am a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with a background in public education, as a teacher for children aged 5- to 18-years-old. My life and career experiences have helped shape me into an empathic, non-judgemental person who strongly believes that everyone has the ability to reach their full potential if given the support and opportunity.

As a therapist, I take an eclectic approach that explores your beliefs about yourself and other people as well as your physical experiences. I use a combination of CBT, somatic approaches, client-centered, and solution-focused therapy to support you in identifying your goals. Whether you are hoping to process past trauma, or you are dealing with current anxiety and overwhelm, I am here to support you.

My professional learnings include cognitive behavioural approaches for individuals who are neurodivergent, gender and sexuality affirming practices, inclusion of multicultural perspectives, trauma processing and integration, polyvagal theory, emotionally-focused therapy (EFIT) and emotional freedom therapy (EFT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), internal family systems (IFS), somatic and mindfulness approaches, and attachment-based approaches. I also have training and certification in non-violent crisis intervention strategies and working with personality disorders.
